13 Ways God's NAME Says Grace in O.T. - by DianaDee Osborne

MARCH 4  followup to the scriptures on my March 3rd blog:
Exodus 34: 5-10                                CLICK  FOR  LINK
About 1,300 years  BEFORE Jesus God's Son walked this earth ---
BEFORE  the time when we often SAY
began the time when God started forgiving by Grace:
God PROCLAIMED  HIS  OWN  NAME  with these
  13  descriptions  of  His  grace:

Exodus 34: 5 - 10, LORD God defining His own grace 13 ways. (New KJV)

"Now the LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. And the LORD passed before him [Moses] and proclaimed,
1.  "The LORD,   Hebrew:  YHWH (sometimes pronounced JeHoVaH),
our covenant keeping LORD God with an unchanging nature; a name for MERCY.

2.   the LORD  -  Anytime something is repeated in Hebrew it is much stressed, so = God proclaims  His Name = unchanging mercy

3.   God,   -  Hebrew:  Elohim (or El) - Creator King compassionate in Mercy.  In Genesis, LORD = Elohim;  No YJWY Lord until people created.

4.   merciful rachum- Like love of a mother for the child from the womb; also, wanting to adopt. Like holding a specially loved child up the the cookie jar so he can reach one.
5.  and  gracious, -   chanan - shows grace and mercy. John the Baptist = Jochanan
6.  and  longsuffering,    -  erek apayim - long suffering

7.  abounding in goodness (loving kindness)  - rav chesed = loving kindness, mercy to both the righteous and unrighteous, like giving every child a cookie whether or not deserve it.

=====  The following will be described in tomorrow's blog (March 5th)
8.    and truth
9.    keeping mercy for thousands,
10.  forgiving iniquity and                            (intentional sin)
11.  [forgiving] transgression and                (rebellious sin)
12.  [forgiving]  sin,                                      (missed-the-mark sin)
13.  by no means clearing [the guilty]...." (unrepentent; God clears all who humbly ask)

When we begin to wonder if God will ever forgive us so repeatedly for AGAIN
    choosing
to  do a sin - whatever it be (no "small" sins),
                this QUOTE BY GOD
   comforts.
The answer is:     YES :  If we humbly repent and ask Him, God forgives.  First John One.
.
PRAYER
LORD GOD,  Your Grace is AMAZING indeed.... just like the ancient song says!
When I remember it - HELP ME ALWAYS remember,
I renew my prayers for Your Help and forgiveness as
I try to stop making wrong choices of ANY type,
whether food or drink or shopping or lying or gossiping
or any kind of self-centered-ness.
But when I forget Your grace, I'm afraid.  Please help me remember that You are my loving father,  that YOU  Yourself proclaimed your name as GRACE --
100s of years even before Your Son came to Earth.
THANK YOU.  I do love You!
