for when we sin against LORD God.
=============================================
According to Biblical chronology, the Exodus took place in the 890th year before the destruction of the first Temple by the Babylonians in 421 B.C.
(The new-better temple where Jesus went was destroyed in 70 A.D.)
So the following QUOTE from Lord God was written
about 1,300 years  BEFORE
Jesus, God's Son, walked this earth.
BEFORE  the time when we often SAY
began the time when God started forgiving by Grace:

Exodus 34: 5 - 10,
LORD God defining His own grace 13 ways. (New KJV)

"Now the LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. And the LORD passed before him [Moses] and proclaimed,
"The LORD,
  the LORD God,
  merciful and gracious,
  longsuffering, and
abounding in goodness and truth
keeping  MERCY  for thousands,
 forgiving iniquity and                           (intentional sin)
[forgiving] transgression and                (rebellious sin)
[forgiving]  sin,                                      (missed-the-mark sin)
by no means clearing [the guilty]...."

So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped. Then he said, "If now I have found grace in Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray, go among us, even though we [are] a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance."
10
"And He said: "Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you [are] shall see the work of the LORD. For it [is] an awesome thing that I will do with you."

Just a reminder to all Christians who believe God's Word
(as they should), including that Jesus "is the same
yesterday, today and forever"        --- Hebrews 13:8 ...
Jesus was THERE in Exodus 20... THERE in Exodus 34.
Our LORD God ... Father, Son & Spirit, Trinity God...
Never changes. He's ALWAYS been a God of Grace.

Who will forgive you and me for our sins,
including of gluttony and self-centeredness,
when we sincerely want to reflect Him & ask for grace,
forgiveness....
