Crying Children Dieting Parable - by DianaDee Osborne

March  1                                                                       SUBSCRIBE

All children cry.  From the beginning, parents quickly learn
when a cry is boredom, loneliness, anger, a need, a REAL need....
or just sadness.
And as they get older,
                            children still cry.
The sad cries are, well, usually sad to us.
But sometimes we ignore them because... honestly...
some children need to learn to deal with problems... &
self-entertainment.  We teach them to become MATURE
when, in wisdom, we sometimes let them cry:
to work out the cause of their tears.
To TRUST that if they REALLY needed help, we would!

But ahhh then....
there are the children who WEEP such HEART-wrenching
sobbing that  tears at our hearts.
It still breaks my heart to remember one child especially who
was repeatedly hurt so badly by a child she thought was a friend...
who would weep until she was out of tears,
with silently heaving shoulders.....

God CARES when sadness, loneliness
drives us to seek comfort. Including in food.
Psalm 56 - He KNOWS our tears....
God weeps for us in heartbroken sorrow.
Is sad when we turn elsewhere
for comfort... including to food.
God weeps when His children choose to
reject Him ... though they might be choosing
death by refusing to listen to His loving call.
By refusing to obey His loving Laws.
Even if they SAY they love Him.

God's Supporting Word
 READ  Matthew 23:37
(which is repeated in Luke 13:34;                          SCRIPTURE LINK
     both writers noticed Jesus's heartbreak).
Jesus wept for those who refused to obey God....
not gentle tears.  Heartbreak.
God... Jesus... The Holy Spirit weep for me when I
choose my selfish ways more and more often, ignoring
God's will for my life.
God's Word of Life for my life.   God weeps for us.
PRAYER
LORD GOD,  Help me to remember this passage... Help me to remember that
You don't just shed a few teardrops for me.... that You weep with heartbreak when
I turn away from You.   I NEED Your help to follow You, to obey You,  to WANT to obey You.
Help me to weep for all that gives you sorrow....
including my sinning disobedience to YOU, however "little" it seems to be.
