70 times 7 Dieting Encouragement - by DianaDee Osborne

Imagine a father:   Sternly warns his children
Don't use drugs - Don't drink alcohol - 
Don't do wrong things with other people - 
Don't spend money foolishly -  
Don't be an overeating glutton - 
Don't curse - 
Don't spend hours a day in front of a screen of any kind.....

Well, maybe it's a LOVING father who            
cares about keeping his children safe ???    

Imagine this father sternly warns his children 
"3 strikes & you're OUT of  my  life"....
    which is horrid to think upon... but then add this:
The same man uses heavy prescription drugs and alcohol,
has a huge credit card balance,
keeps eating all day while watching TV....
and still demands that his children "perfectly do" 
what he says--  not what he does.

Pretty lousy father,   huh.
BUT  THAT's  how  we  are  Accusing  God 
of  being.... IF...
... we won't forgive ourselves for our faults we've sorrowed 
for,  asked God's forgiveness for.  Including for 
breaking our diet... sinning by gluttony that day.

CONSIDER:
JESUS TAUGHT that we must forgive 70  times 7:  
Not 490, but FOREVER because if we're counting up to
488 thinking "ONLY 3 MORE TIMES", then we have NOT
forgiven during those first 488 times...    LINK: Matthew 18

CONSIDER:
WOULD GOD OUR LOVING FATHER  
order us to do what HE will not do???      
So if He tells US to forgive 490+ times.........

CONSIDER:
JESUS CLEARLY SAID in John 8:44, Satan is a liar.   
God clearly calls Satan the 'ACCUSER'  in Rev. 12:10.
So.... Since Satan attacked Jesus with thoughts that were wrong, 
what does this mean for YOUR life? .........

CONCLUSION:
It makes Satan happy and God very sad
when we believe the lying thoughts in our heads that
God will abandon us just because we've sinned -- 
whatever it is.
Including breaking our diet... 
including when we have to add "AGAIN".

for the accuser of our brethren,

PRAYER

LORD GOD,  I am *SO* ashamed when I blow my diet yet again by PLAN...
When I "want what I want when I want it"  and completely forget that
I wanted, really, to do what reflects well on you...  2nd Corinthians 3:18. 
Help me to forgive myself even while I ask You to forgive me -- I DO
sorrow for my sins. I DO ask Your help - like in Romans 7 - to
live a life that pleases you.
I pray in the Mighty Name of Jesus, our Prince of Peace.
