Have you ever wondered if there's a reason why some people
STRUGGLE  against temptations of some type --- not just food...
even what we call "normal"   like overshopping.... ??

A reason beyond  self-centeredness.
A reason beyond  trying to forget about problems.
A reason beyond  wanting something 'new' to give hope & fun.
A reason beyond  mere boredom.

A new reason comes to mind when we believe   
    the LOGIC that Creator God was able to   
              keep non-truths out of His Bible. 

(Things that don't matter, we can understand later in His time, 
                  but do we really 'throw out' the entire Book because it looks
                            like 2 different stories on who got to the Tomb first? Come on!   James 3:16 --
Not God but,  by comparison, SATAN is the author of confusion.... 
GETTING OF US OFF TRACK with silly controversies like these.

Jesus CLEARLY said Satan is real.  

Check John 10:10 and  John 8:44  for quick examples.
This is actually COMFORT.... for it gives another reason
why you and I are struggling against our individual temptations.

IT'S EXCITING!   
Satan wouldn't bother with us    (me)
if we weren't  yearning  to 
give God glory in our lives!       (my life)

THRU GOD, our JOY IS THIS: .... It becomes actually fun to fight
self- centeredness & compulsions like too much Internet, TV, shopping, food,
even gym & other good things
    (and all these can be good--- but that prevents easy Just-Avoid-It solutions),
when we consider it sort of like revenge against who Jesus called Deceiver:....

Satan like any terrorist just ENJOYS causing pain (John 10:10),
but is especially threatened by & thus fights against anyone seeking to glorify God.
 So: James 1:2, Satan's Annoyed, 
and We can consider it JOY 
as we refuse our individual compulsive thoughts. 
After all>> we have Creator God offering us 
His Clothing of Victory, if we just put it on! ...

THANKING GOD for His promised First Corinthians 10:13 
power to OVERCOME ANYTHING  
                       with His help!
SCRIPTURE:

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. 

And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. 

When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure."

PRAYER

LORD GOD,  I do sometimes get discouraged, and for that I deeply apologize.
I do lose sight of the real goal of my dieting or anything else trying to be Christ-like.....
TO GLORIFY YOU!   To not be a poor witness to you..... 
I pray for Your continuing forgiveness.  
But I want MORE than forgiveness.  I want to be CHRIST-LIKE.  Please 
continue, Holy Spirit, to insistently push an awareness 
of Your Holy Self into my mind's awareness.  
THIS is my free-will choice, that I pray in Jesus's Holy & Blessed Name.
